ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

The project assumes that by active participation of the volunteer in the activities and through art, sport, joyful integration children will be able to get to know the other part of European heritage. The children are 3- 18 years old and are divided into aged groups. The volunteer will also participate in activities which are held in Olszanica – our horse riding section. He will have an opportunity to work with disabled children through hipotherapy and horses. Kraków is the city in the south of Poland. The old part of the city is regarded as a fascinating historic area rich in heritage. The historic quarters constitute only a small part of present-day Kraków, which is now the largest city in the Lesser Poland (Małopolska) region. The geographical position makes Kraków an ideal base for excursions to Polish mountains or the picturesque valleys. The city is also well positioned for national and international connections.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

Volunteer will live with other volunteers in the apartment. S/he will share the room with another volunteers (rooms for 2 sometimes 3 persons) close to the city center. Kitchen and bathroom will be shared with other flatmates. The room will be equipped with basic furniture and the kitchen equipment. You don’t need to bring your own things, like cutlery, plates, bed-cloths etc. Local transport: Volunteer will get the bus and tram card for all the lines accessible in Krakow.

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

The volunteers will have the host organisation support. First of all he activities that the volunteer will participate in are held and supervised by qualified teacher that are working according to health and safety at work rules, the volunteer will not be asked to work on his own or without the accompanion of a tutor. The people from the hosting organisation and open- minded, tolerant and cheerful people, with the right attitude to work with the volunteer.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

Our organization is open to working with any partner. We don’t have any expectations about the type of sending organization we want to cooperate with. As the volunteer will be working about 5 h a day with children aged three and four it is essential that she/he is a calm and patient person fond of children. She/he should have the certificate that she/he is healthy and can work with little children. Apart from that the volunteer should be creative, open minded, communicative, keen on integrating with the children and local community. We would be very happy if the volunteer spoke English.
